Testimonials

“This was the first thing my children would ask about when they came into class each morning! They loved discovering a new word each day which gave them that extra bit of segmenting and blending practise. It comes with a huge supply of christmassy resources and game ideas to print off and use in the classroom too so it’s more than just an advent calendar.” – Mrs Hughes, Year 1 class teacher.

“It was a great way to introduce phonics to my 3 year old. It quickly became part of our bed time routine, and tied in nicely with Christmas stories we were reading. We loved the bright illustrations on the front too. Introducing one word a day was a nice and gentle way to approach phonics with a child beginning to recognise letters and sounds. Using the big clear letters, my little boy was able to identify sounds he recognised and attempted putting these together. By the end of the calendar, he was much more confident in putting sounds together to form words.” Bekki Gooding, parent.

“My 4 year old daughter actually loved this more than her chocolate advent calendar, I never thought I’d be telling you that! She couldn’t wait to open it as soon as she got out of bed every morning, which surprised me because she never gets that excited about reading her school book!” – Danielle Thompson, parent.

“A big thank you from myself and all of the lovely children in my Reception class! Our star of the day did the honour of opening the advent calendar after register and asked for a little help from their friends if they got stuck with reading the word, so it was good practise for everyone! They loved using the Christmas letter mat too when they were busy writing in our elves workshop!!” – Miss O’Sullivan, teacher.

“This was fantastic. Our son is in Year 1 at school and finds reading difficult. He always tries really hard but is quite behind for his age, so this was just the thing we needed to give him extra help at home. Thank you so much.” – Rachel Groves, parent.
